The Library, specialized in the artistic field with a particular focus on contemporary art, contains 35,000 items (books, pamphlets, magazines); 80 active journals; 3,000 newspapers and magazines stored. The editions date from the 1960s onward, due to the founding date of the Academy itself, established in 1967.

In addition to printed materials, there is an audiovisual section with 730 DVDs, mainly films and theater performances.

The volume of preserved materials confirms the special attention given to the library since the early years of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Urbino by directors Renato Bruscaglia, Concetto Pozzati, and the then art history lecturer Alberto Boatto, with the aim of acquiring fundamental works for the study of art history, particularly modern and contemporary art.

The materials are organized into the following sections: Artistic Anatomy; Architecture, Urban Planning and Design; Furniture and Costume; Art and Art History from Origins to Contemporary, with dedicated sections for individual artists; Exhibition and Collective Show Catalogues; Cinema and Photography; Aesthetics and Philosophy; Guides and Local History; Italian Literature; Foreign Literature; Music; Scenography; Stage Technology; Sciences; Humanities; History and Criticism of Literature; Political and Economic History; Theater Texts; Theater History; Artistic Techniques; Reference works (series, encyclopedias, dictionaries); Magazine Archive.
